Lady's Island

Holy Well

The parish church of Lady's Island is situated in a D-shaped graveyard guarded by the Tower House which stands at the head of the causeway that leads to the island. Traditionally it is believed the Augustinian Canons regulated pilgrtimages to the island during the medieval period. Our Lady's Well on the eastern side from the island stands on the original pilgrimage route, a visit to the well is recommended. All that remains of the church is the west gable, pictured above and the scant remains of the side walls. 70 metres to the west is another holy well.

Situated: From Wexford take the N25 south for 15 Kilometres. At Tagoat take a right turn for Lady's Island. After 4.5 k you will reach Lady's Island Lake and Town.
